Job Summary Statement

Moolmans offers services across the mining value chain, from shaft sinking, underground development, contract mining and open cut mining, to construction of mine infrastructure. The operating group’s experience spans a broad range of commodities and it has worked successfully in remote and challenging locations.

Co-ordinates and controls the Supply Chain Management processes, aligning procedures, systems and controls, executing applications to address the identification, acquisition or disposal of items, monitoring the stock control applications and maintaining records of outcomes, supporting and contributing to fair, equitable, transparent and cost-effective procurement practices that is consistent with policies and laid down requirements encapsulated in legislative frameworks.

Minimum Requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and preferably also Accounting passed as subjects.
  • Relevant Qualification (National Diploma or Degree) in Procurement and Logistics, or Supply Chain
  • Management (preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3-5 years related work experience in a similar/ supervisory level role, in an Opencast Mining
  • Environment
  • Comprehensive experience dealing with Heavy Earthmoving Equipment parts and components
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • No criminal record

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management of Stock, Logistical and Procurement processes on site
  • Ensure that purchase requisitions and purchase order transactions are accurately and
  • Timeously processed using SAGE and ORB system
  • Ensure compliance with Organizational Quality and Procurement systems, policies, procedures and standards during procurement process
  • Ensure effective and efficient logistics and procurement
  • Builds and maintains relationships with the relevant stakeholders and internal customers
  • Establish good relationships with suppliers and ensure a prompt turnaround time on all transactions, during the procurement and logistics process
  • Ensure that open orders are expedited
  • Conducts forecasting and planning of stock
  • Manages and coordinates the transportation and delivery of goods and materials
  • Ensure that the right products are ordered in the right quantities and available on time
  • Supervise Procurement and Logistical staff
  • Ensure proper Procurement and Logistic document control and administration
  • Manages the departmental budget
  • Monitor, supervise and coordinate activities as to support the smooth operation of supply chain processes
  • Adheres to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent MS Office skills (Strong Excel skills are compulsory)
  • Knowledge and experience of the SAGE and ORB system will be a strong advantage
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Procurement and Logistics Environment
